Loy Yang B employees have supported Lifeline Gippsland with a major warehouse clean-up, removing the need for costly external services to complete the task and allowing the organisation to direct its time and resources into core crisis and suicide prevention services.

Over two days, 18 people used their annual day of volunteer leave to complete extensive cleaning, sorting, and restoration work across three inactive warehouses, helping bring long‑unused spaces back to life.

It’s an effort Lifeline Gippsland CEO Cindy Pullar described as “invaluable,” leaving a significant and lasting impact on its operations and community services.

“The work completed by the volunteers has made an extraordinary difference to our organisation,” Cindy said.

“These warehouses have been inactive for years and the task of restoration was overwhelming. Unlocking this space creates new opportunities for Lifeline Gippsland to continue delivering life-saving services to our community.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity, enthusiasm and teamwork shown by every volunteer. Their efforts represent a powerful act of community care.”

The project was a meaningful team building opportunity, bringing people from all areas of the Loy Yang B business together with a shared purpose, while also allowing us to make a positive and meaningful difference in the communities where we live and work.

“Seeing the Lifeline team members emotionally overwhelmed at what we managed to achieve for them made me feel so proud to be part of such a great team,” Loy Yang B Payroll Officer Teagan Uttridge, who volunteered on the day, said.

“It’s amazing to see something as small as volunteering some time have such a massive impact and for such a great organisation like Lifeline makes it all worth it.”

The revitalised warehouse spaces will support Lifeline Gippsland’s ongoing mission to provide crisis support, prevent suicide and invest in community wellbeing across the Gippsland region, starting with a garage sale on site on Saturday 14 March 2026, 8am-2pm at 2-8 Fleming Street Morwell.
